Kilkenny County Council honoured at Repak Awards

Kilkenny County Council was honoured at the recent Repak Awards during National Recycling Week. WEEE Ireland, the Irish compliance scheme for electrical and battery recycling, selected Kilkenny County Council as a recipient of its Special Merit Award and as a finalist in the WEEE Ireland Best WEEE and Battery Recycling Event category for its hard work during the year and participation in the WEEE Ireland Collection Programme.

Free recycling events continue in Galway

WEEE Ireland (waste, electrical and electronic equipment), the compliance scheme for electrical waste and battery recycling, has held a series of WEEE Wagon collection events across Galway county throughout September, and these will continue into October. These smaller collection days supported by the Galway County Council allow people from towns and villages across the county to get rid of any household electrical equipment and batteries in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
